Hi, I'm Dana and I would like to share a little about myself - the rest of course will be about you and your wedding!!! I have lived in California, Oregon, New Jersey, Maryland, Virginia, England, and South Africa; but Colorado is the only place that ever felt like home. I think John Denver may have had a little bit to do with that.
I have always believed that life is what you make it; and I wanted to help others realize their worth, so I decided to become a therapist. I graduated from Chico State University in California. I became a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist shortly after moving back to Colorado in 1999.
I do have a confession. I love Colorado, but the main reason why I moved back here was for love. I came back because there was this guy whom I met at age 17 and dated for awhile. Life went on, but he was always in the back of my mind. Now I have been so happily married to this man for the last 9 years. We have 2 little girls ages 4 and 6, as well as 4 dogs and 2 cats. I am so lucky to be living my own fairy tale.
My background in counseling has added to my respect and appreciation for different cultures, traditions, spiritual beliefs, and viewpoints. My spiritual beliefs cracked wide open after losing our son prematurely in 2002. The gratitude I feel for my husband increased exponentially after this experience because I knew then that we could get through the hard times and still have love.
Love is why we are here, and marriage is what makes me feel whole. I have performed weddings for family and friends and felt so honored and moved by the experience. There is no feeling like being in the presence of love and a couple starting a new chapter in their lives. I am so grateful to Maureen for giving me the opportunity to be a part of your wedding ceremony, and I will do everything I can to make it the most special day of your lives.
