When I met Maureen of Lyssabeth's Colorado Wedding Officiants, I felt an immediate connection and was instantly drawn to her creativity, passion and desire to make weddings fun and interesting! I share her philosophy of "breaking the mold" when it comes to ceremonies as no two couples are alike. It hasn't been that long since I planned my own wedding, and I remember all too well how it can be both exhilarating and stressful--especially finding an officiant who is willing to help you create a ceremony that captures the true essence of who you are as a couple.
I am a lucky woman, having grown up in Colorado singing with my father, who is my hero to this day. In fact, I think I was harmonizing with him on Country Roads before I knew my ABCs. In high school, I formed an A'Capella female trio and had the privilege to travel around the state and country, competing in various events.
After earning a scholarship to the University of Northern Colorado, I studied music, psychology, anthropology and ultimately earned my Bachelor's degree in English. In 2000, I married my best friend and college sweetheart. We have a son, Evan, who keeps me on my toes and is a constant reminder of how precious life really is.
When I'm not officiating ceremonies, I work for a healthcare company where I have ample opportunities to deliver presentations and provide assistance to our clients. I am one of those crazy individuals who actually enjoys public speaking and have been a member of Toastmasters International for over 3 years. After holding several officer positions and completing God knows how many speeches, I earned the Competent Toastmaster certification in 2004.
Note that I officiate only the following areas: Highlands Ranch, Littleton, Centennial, and south Denver
