My daughter is 17 years old and we are companions to a Silky Terrier, and an orange tiger cat. We live in Centennial when we're not hiking, camping, or soaking in the hot springs, traveling to Alaska or Europe, or attending a meditation retreat. At home, we read, write, play with arts and crafts projects, cook and garden.
As a fourth grade student, I conducted "weddings" for my friends at recess, and loved creating the services, even then! I remembered some of the "official" words, and used those, made up some that I thought sounded better, and spent most of the ceremony talking about my friends and their relationship. As an adult, when I had the opportunity to begin officiating, I laughed out loud at the amazing full circle my life path has taken.
I've always loved weddings -- the community of family and friends or the privacy of elopement, the ceremony, the love, the romance, the hope, the beauty (flowers, music, fabric) - all blending to create the unique expression of each couple's personality and style. And I thrive on helping couples create personalized ceremonies that will last in your memories, as well as those of your guests.
In addition to my officiating duties, I am a Life Coach, with specialties in Career, Relationship and Spiritual coaching. I've also been an instructor for a master's degree program in counseling, as well as a licensed counselor. As a result, I have extensive experience in group facilitation, teaching, public speaking, and writing, as well as working with couples and families.
As an officiant, my primary goal is to facilitate your decision making processes, helping you co-create a ceremony reflective of you as individuals and as a couple. I honor all forms of love between consenting adults, and am comfortable with spiritual, religious, as well as secular ceremonies and practices. Although raised in a Protestant church, my path has also led me to explore a variety of religions from around the world, across time and cultures. I honor and accept any and all spiritual paths that do no harm to others.
I've been described as warm, caring, nurturing, challenging, inspiring, organized, and creative. Planning and personalizing my own wedding was such fun, and I would be delighted to help you create a ceremony that really reflects you!
